Weight loss · FAQ
What happens if I stop using Zepbound vials?
Short answer
Talk with your prescribing physician before stopping Zepbound vials or restarting after a break. Appetite and weight may increase after treatment ends. Results vary. Your physician can help plan ongoing weight care and review blood sugar needs if you have diabetes. Do not restart your old dose without guidance.
Stopping Zepbound vials should be part of a plan with your prescribing physician. The medication does not generally require a gradual taper, but your health needs and reason for stopping still matter. Do not create your own lower-dose schedule by splitting or saving a single-dose vial.
After treatment ends, appetite may increase and weight may return. Results vary. Your care plan may include nutrition support, physical activity, follow-up visits, or another treatment when appropriate. If you have diabetes, your physician may also need to review your blood sugar plan and other medicines.
If you become pregnant, stop Zepbound and contact your physician. If you have signs of a serious reaction, such as severe ongoing stomach pain, seek urgent medical care before taking another dose. Call 911 for trouble breathing or swelling of your face or throat.
After a break, do not assume your previous dose is still right for you. Contact your prescriber for restart instructions. A lower starting dose may be needed based on how long you have been off treatment and your prior side effects.
