What should I know before stopping Wegovy pill?

Talk with your prescribing physician before stopping Wegovy pill unless you need emergency care for a serious reaction. They can help plan next steps and any needed monitoring. Appetite and weight may change after treatment ends. Results vary. If you have diabetes, your blood sugar plan may also need review.
Contact your prescribing physician if you want to stop Wegovy pill because of side effects, cost, pregnancy plans, or another reason. They can explain how to stop and whether you need another treatment or follow-up testing. Do not create your own tapering schedule or restart leftover tablets later without advice.
Appetite may increase and weight may return after semaglutide is stopped. Results vary. Your physician can help you plan ongoing food, activity, and weight support. If you have diabetes, stopping semaglutide may also affect blood sugar. Ask whether you need closer monitoring or changes to other medicines, rather than changing them yourself.
Tell your physician promptly if you become pregnant or plan a pregnancy. Semaglutide should be stopped at least two months before a planned pregnancy, with guidance from your physician. If you have signs of a serious allergic reaction, call 911 and do not take another dose while seeking care. Severe, lasting stomach pain also needs urgent medical review.
