Wegovy pill contains semaglutide, which can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and stomach pain. Tell your prescribing physician about symptoms that last, worsen, or keep you from eating or drinking. Repeated vomiting or diarrhea can cause dehydration and kidney problems. Do not change your dose on your own.
Seek urgent medical care for severe or lasting stomach pain, especially with vomiting or pain reaching your back. This may be a sign of pancreas inflammation. Upper belly pain with fever or yellow skin may signal a gallbladder problem. Call 911 for trouble breathing, fainting, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Semaglutide carries a warning about thyroid C-cell tumors seen in animals; the risk in humans is not known. Tell your physician if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or if you have MEN 2. Also report vision changes. Low blood sugar is a greater concern when semaglutide is taken with insulin or certain diabetes medicines.
