Can Wegovy pill interact with my other medicines?
Short answer
Yes. Semaglutide slows stomach emptying and may affect how oral medicines are absorbed. Insulin and some diabetes medicines can also raise the risk of low blood sugar when used with it. Give your prescribing physician and pharmacist a full list of medicines, vitamins, and supplements before starting Wegovy pill.

Include prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, herbal products, and other weight loss treatments. Do not assume that a supplement is safe to combine just because it is sold without a prescription.
Semaglutide slows stomach emptying, which may affect the absorption of oral medicines. The empty-stomach dosing rules can also affect your morning medication schedule. Tell your physician if you take thyroid medicine, such as levothyroxine, or medicines that need close blood testing. Insulin and medicines such as sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar when taken with semaglutide.
Do not combine Wegovy pill with another semaglutide product or another GLP-1 medicine on your own. Ask before adding or stopping any medicine. Also tell your surgery or anesthesia team that you take semaglutide before any planned procedure. They will decide whether your treatment or fasting instructions need to change; do not stop it without guidance.
