Weight loss · FAQ
What dose of Wegovy pill will I be prescribed?
Short answer
Your prescribing physician will choose your Wegovy pill dose and any dose changes. Follow the directions on your prescription label. The strength is not listed on this page, so do not choose a dose yourself or use dosing instructions for injectable semaglutide or a different oral product.
Your prescribing physician will decide your Wegovy pill dose after reviewing your health history and current medicines. Follow your prescription label for the tablet strength, number of tablets, and timing. This page does not list a tablet strength, so it is not enough to guide dosing on its own.
Do not raise your dose, take extra tablets, or change your schedule without instructions. Oral and injectable semaglutide have different dosing rules. Instructions for another semaglutide product should not be used for your prescription. If the package name or strength differs from what you expected, ask the pharmacy before taking it.
A licensed physician in your state decides whether treatment is appropriate. Tell them about past problems with weight loss medicines, other health conditions, and all medicines you take. If your prescription directions are unclear, contact the prescribing physician or dispensing pharmacist. Ask them to confirm your starting dose and when, if ever, you should change it.
