What should I do if I miss a dose of Wegovy pill?
Short answer
Follow the missed-dose instructions on your Wegovy pill label or contact your pharmacist. Do not double your dose or take extra tablets to make up for a missed dose. If you miss several doses, ask your prescribing physician how to restart before taking the medicine again.
Your Wegovy pill label and prescribing physician’s instructions are the right guides for a missed dose. Check the medication guide that came with your prescription. If you cannot find the instructions, call the dispensing pharmacist rather than guessing about when to take the next tablet.
Do not take two doses together or add extra tablets to make up for a missed dose. Do not use missed-dose rules for a weekly injection or a different oral medicine. The schedule for those products may not apply to your prescription. If you have already taken more than prescribed, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 for guidance. Call 911 for severe symptoms.
If you have missed several doses, contact your prescribing physician before restarting. Tell them how long you have been off treatment and whether you stopped because of side effects. They can decide whether your dosing plan needs to change. A daily reminder may help you keep track without changing the prescribed schedule.
