Sleep · FAQ
What is the dose or testing schedule for the Home sleep test?
Short answer
The Home sleep test is a one-night test, not a medicine, so it has no drug dose. Wear the disposable Type III device for one night of normal sleep, as directed by your prescribing physician and the device label. Do not repeat testing unless your physician tells you to.
The Home sleep test uses a disposable Type III home sleep apnea testing device for one night. It does not contain a medicine, and there is no dose to take. Follow your prescribing physician’s directions and the device label for when to start, how to wear it, and when to finish.
A physician licensed in your state reviews your online visit and decides whether home testing is appropriate. Some people need a different kind of sleep study based on their symptoms, health conditions, or other medicines. A home test does not measure every part of sleep and is not the right test for every sleep problem.
Do not add extra testing nights, reuse a disposable device, or change your usual medicines on your own. If the label and your visit instructions seem different, ask for help before testing. If the recording is incomplete, your physician will decide whether another test or an in-person sleep study is needed.
