Sleep · FAQ
How do I use the Home sleep test for one night?
Short answer
Use the Home sleep test during one night of normal sleep, following your prescribing physician’s instructions and the device label. Read the setup guide before bedtime and attach each sensor as shown. Ask for help if anything is unclear rather than guessing where sensors go or how to start recording.
Read all included instructions before your planned test night. Your prescribing physician’s directions and the device label guide how to place the sensors, turn on the device, and check that it is recording. Exact steps depend on the supplied device, so do not use instructions for another model.
Plan to sleep at your usual time unless your physician tells you otherwise. Do not take extra sleep medicine or drink alcohol to make yourself fall asleep. Ask your physician ahead of time whether to follow your usual medication routine. Keep the device and its parts away from water unless the label specifically allows contact with water.
In the morning, follow the instructions for ending the recording and submitting the data. Do not throw away any part until you have checked the data submission and disposal directions. If a sensor falls off or the device shows an error, follow its troubleshooting guide and report the problem. Your physician will decide whether the recording is usable.
