Visits and fees · FAQ

What happens to my visit fee if medication is not approved?

Short answer

The visit fee remains non-refundable if medication is not approved. It pays for the physician's review, not a guaranteed prescription. You are not charged for medication without physician approval. A licensed physician in your state decides whether treatment is appropriate based on your visit information.

If the physician does not approve medication, the visit fee is not refunded. The fee covers the review of your care request. Paying it does not require the physician to prescribe a medication or approve the treatment you requested.

A licensed physician in your state makes that decision. The payment process is separate from the prescribing decision. Medication is charged only after physician approval, so a visit without medication approval should not include a charge for that medication.

A paid visit fee can be credited toward your first medication order within 30 days. That credit is not a refund and does not change the need for physician approval. Do not assume that a credit can be paid out in cash when no order is placed.

If you have questions about the charges after your visit, contact Verra Health. Ask which charges are for the visit and which, if any, are for medication. If you believe medication was charged without approval, request a billing review rather than assuming it is part of the visit fee.
