Weight loss · FAQ
How do I switch from another weight loss treatment to Wegovy pill?
Short answer
A licensed physician in your state must decide whether switching to Wegovy pill is appropriate. Do not overlap treatments or convert doses yourself. Tell the physician which medicine you use, its dose, and when you last took it. Follow the new prescription label and the physician’s exact switching instructions.
Switching to Wegovy pill needs a plan from your prescribing physician. Share the name, dose, and schedule of your current medicine, plus the date of your last dose. Explain why you want to switch and whether you have had nausea, vomiting, low blood sugar, or other problems.
Do not assume that a tablet dose matches an injection dose. Different oral semaglutide products may also have different instructions. Your physician will decide when to stop the current treatment, when to start the new one, and which dose to prescribe. Do not take both medicines together unless your physician has clearly reviewed and approved the combination.
A licensed physician in your state decides whether the change is appropriate after reviewing your health history. A video visit may be needed for some states or medications. Ask for a written schedule if the transition feels confusing. Before your first tablet, check the product name and strength with the pharmacy and confirm the empty-stomach dosing instructions on the label.
