What side effects can Allergy Rx cause?
Short answer
Allergy Rx nasal ingredients can cause a bitter taste, nose irritation, nosebleeds, headache, or sleepiness. The tablet may have other risks, depending on its ingredient. Ask your pharmacist to identify it. Get urgent help for trouble breathing or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Azelastine and fluticasone nasal medicines can cause a bitter taste, sneezing, nose or throat irritation, headache, and nosebleeds. Azelastine can also cause sleepiness. Avoid driving or using machinery until you know how the medicine affects you. Alcohol and other medicines that cause sleepiness can add to this effect.
Contact your physician for frequent or heavy nosebleeds, painful sores inside your nose, white patches in your nose or mouth, or symptoms that persist. Report blurred vision, eye pain, or other vision changes promptly. Nasal steroids can have less common risks, especially with prolonged use or certain drug interactions. Your physician can explain which concerns apply to you.
Call 911 for trouble breathing, fainting, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. These can be signs of a serious allergic reaction. The tablet ingredient is not specified on this page, so this list does not cover all possible tablet side effects. Read each pharmacy handout and ask your pharmacist about the exact medicines dispensed.
