How should I store the Allergy Rx spray and tablet?
Short answer
Store Allergy Rx according to each pharmacy label, since the spray and tablet may have different needs. Keep both away from children and pets. Do not assume they need refrigeration. Check the discard date, and ask your pharmacist about any exposure to heat, freezing, or damaged packaging.
The storage directions on each Allergy Rx pharmacy label take priority. Nasal sprays and tablets often have different packaging and storage needs. Keep them in their labeled containers, with caps closed, and away from children and pets. Avoid leaving medicine in a hot car or a damp bathroom.
Do not refrigerate or freeze Allergy Rx unless the label specifically tells you to do so. Keep the spray nozzle clean and covered. Follow the bottle instructions about when to discard it, including any limit on the number of sprays. A bottle may still contain liquid after it no longer delivers a reliable dose.
If your medicine is compounded, it is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and is not FDA-approved. Follow its beyond-use date, which is the pharmacy’s date for when it should no longer be used. If a shipment arrives very hot, frozen, leaking, or damaged, ask the dispensing pharmacy whether it can be used. Do not judge safety by appearance alone.
