How do I use my compounded NAD+ injection safely?
Short answer
Use NAD+ injection only by the route and method on your prescription label. Ask your physician or pharmacist to teach you before your first injection. Wash your hands, use new sterile supplies each time, and never share needles, syringes, or medication with another person.
Follow your prescription label and the injection instructions supplied by your physician or pharmacy. The product strength does not tell you where or how to inject it. If the route, dose, or syringe markings are unclear, do not inject until you get help.
Before your first dose, ask for training on preparing the dose, cleaning the injection site, giving the injection, and handling the vial. Your pharmacist should explain which supplies to use and how to check the medication before each dose. Do not use a vial that is leaking, damaged, or different from its expected appearance.
Wash your hands and prepare your supplies on a clean surface. Use a new sterile needle and syringe for each injection. Never share supplies or medication. Put used needles and syringes directly into a sharps container, and follow local disposal rules.
Do not change the route or mix NAD+ with another substance yourself. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and are not FDA-approved.
