How do I use my compounded Glutathione injection safely?
Short answer
Use Glutathione only by the injection route and method listed on your prescription label. Ask your physician or pharmacist to teach you the steps before your first dose. Do not assume the injection site or syringe type. Use a new sterile needle and syringe for each injection.
Follow your prescription label and the injection instructions from your prescribing physician and pharmacy. This page does not specify an injection route. Do not assume that Glutathione should go under the skin, into a muscle, or into a vein. Never attempt an intravenous injection on your own.
Before starting, ask for training on the correct route, site, dose measurement, and supplies. Wash your hands and use a clean work area. Use a new sterile needle and syringe for every injection. Never share needles, syringes, or medication with another person.
Check the vial label, beyond-use date, and storage instructions before each dose. Do not use a damaged vial or liquid that looks different from the pharmacy’s description. Contact the pharmacy if you notice particles, an unexpected color change, or a leaking seal.
Place used needles and syringes in a sharps container right away. Do not mix Glutathione with another medicine in the same syringe unless your prescribing physician and pharmacist specifically direct you to do so.
