How do I switch to Lash growth serum from another lash treatment?
Short answer
Ask your prescribing physician before switching to Lash growth serum. Share the name, ingredients, and last use of your current treatment, along with any side effects. Do not overlap lash growth medicines unless approved. Your physician decides whether a break is needed and when to start your new prescription.
There is no single switching schedule that works for every lash product. Before starting Lash growth serum, tell your prescribing physician what you currently use, how often you apply it, and when you last used it. Include prescription products, cosmetic serums, and any eye drops.
Share any history of redness, eyelid darkening, eye color changes, or changes around the eyes. If you stopped another product because of irritation, your physician may want to review those symptoms before you start something new. A licensed physician in your state decides whether bimatoprost is appropriate for you.
Do not overlap products or create your own break between treatments. Your physician will decide whether you need a pause and give you a start date and application instructions. Follow your new prescription label rather than reusing the directions from your old product.
If your prescription is compounded, it is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and is not FDA-approved. Ask your physician or pharmacist about any differences in ingredients, packaging, or applicator instructions.
