What side effects can Acne formula cause?

Short answer

Acne formula can cause dryness, redness, peeling, stinging, or burning. Tretinoin can also make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Contact your physician for severe or lasting irritation. Stop using it and seek medical advice for severe diarrhea; seek emergency care for trouble breathing or swelling of your face or throat.

Dryness, redness, peeling, stinging, and burning can occur with Acne formula. Irritation may be more noticeable when starting treatment or when using other drying skin products. Tell your prescribing physician if symptoms are strong, last, or interfere with daily activities. Do not simply use more moisturizer and continue through severe irritation without advice.

Tretinoin can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, wear protective clothing, and avoid tanning beds. Ask your physician which gentle cleanser and moisturizer fit your treatment plan. Avoid putting the gel on sunburned or damaged skin.

Topical clindamycin can rarely cause serious bowel inflammation. Stop using the gel and seek prompt medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhea, watery or bloody stools, or significant stomach cramps. Mention that you use topical clindamycin. Get emergency help for trouble breathing or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Tell your physician about any history of bowel inflammation or antibiotic-related diarrhea before starting.
