At-home labs · FAQ
What should I do if I miss my Hormone panel collection time?
Short answer
There is no dose to miss with the Hormone panel. If you miss the planned morning collection, check the kit label and ask your prescribing physician when to try again. Do not collect extra material or change your medicine schedule to make up for the missed collection time.
The Hormone panel is a one-time lab test, so missing collection is not the same as missing medicine. If you have not collected your sample, check the kit’s expiration date and instructions. Ask your prescribing physician whether another morning is suitable before choosing a new collection time.
Timing can matter when interpreting hormone tests. Your physician may want the sample collected at a certain time of day, during a certain part of your menstrual cycle, or at a set interval after a hormone dose. Tell them what timing you missed and whether any medicines or health changes could affect the new plan.
If you already collected the sample but missed the mailing window, do not assume it is still usable. Follow the kit’s sample storage and return instructions, and contact the service for guidance. Do not add a fresh sample to an older one. Keep taking prescribed medicines as directed unless your treating physician gives you different instructions.
