What is the dose for the TRU-1 GLP-1 response test?
Short answer
The TRU-1 GLP-1 response test is a cheek-swab genetic test, not a medication, so it has no drug dose. Follow your prescribing physician’s directions and the kit label for sample collection. Do not use the test to choose or change a GLP-1 medication dose on your own.
The TRU-1 GLP-1 response test collects cells from inside your cheek. It looks at variants in GLP1R, CNR1, and CTRB1. These are gene names, not medication strengths. There is no amount of medicine to take and no daily dosing schedule for this test.
A licensed physician in your state decides whether the test is appropriate after an online visit. Follow that physician’s directions and the kit label. Use only the collection supplies provided, and follow the instructions for the number of swabs or samples needed. If the directions are missing or unclear, ask for help before collecting your sample.
The test does not replace a medical review of your health history, current medicines, and treatment goals. It should not be used on its own to select a GLP-1 medication or set its dose. Genetic findings cannot guarantee a treatment response. Results vary. Keep taking any prescribed medication as directed unless your treating physician tells you to make a change.
