How should I take tadalafil, and what if I miss a daily dose?
Short answer
Take tadalafil exactly as prescribed, with or without food. For daily treatment, take it around the same time each day. If you miss a daily dose, take it when you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Never double up or exceed your prescribed schedule.
Your prescription label should state the dose and whether to take tadalafil daily or as needed. Follow those directions rather than instructions from someone else's prescription. Tadalafil can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than one dose in a day; some people need a longer gap between doses.
For daily treatment, take a missed dose when you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your usual schedule. Do not take two doses to make up for one. Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure how close is too close for your specific prescription.
As-needed treatment does not have a missed daily dose. Take it only according to the timing and limits your prescriber gives you.
Do not change the dose based on one sexual experience. Results vary. If the medicine is not helping or causes side effects, contact your prescriber before taking more or changing the schedule.
