Sleep · FAQ
How does Verra build a sleep care plan after the initial assessment?
Short answer
Your sleep care plan starts with a review of your symptoms, health history, and any prior test results. A licensed physician in your state decides whether more testing or medical treatment is appropriate. Dental treatment requires a licensed dentist. Your plan may include follow-up to review comfort, safety, and response.
The first step is to describe your sleep concerns and share your health history. Include all medicines and supplements, alcohol use, work schedule, and any earlier sleep studies. Tell the clinician whether you have trouble sleeping, breathing concerns during sleep, or both. These problems may need different types of care.
A licensed physician in your state reviews the information and decides whether testing or medical treatment is appropriate. If an oral appliance is being considered, a licensed dentist in your state decides whether dental treatment fits your needs. You may be asked for more records, a video visit, or an in-person evaluation before a plan can be made.
The next steps depend on that review. They may include a test, prescribed equipment, insomnia care, or referral to another service. Follow-up can help the clinician review symptoms, treatment use, and side effects. Results vary. Ask what follow-up is included and how to raise concerns between visits before starting your plan.
