How do I switch from another hormone treatment to Enclomiphene?
Short answer
Switch to Enclomiphene only with a plan from your prescribing physician. There is no single schedule that fits every prior treatment. Tell them what you use, your dose, and your last dose date. Do not overlap treatments or assume that the doses are interchangeable without specific medical instructions.
A licensed physician in your state must decide whether switching to Enclomiphene is appropriate. The plan depends on your current treatment, why it was prescribed, your symptoms, and your health history. Testosterone, clomiphene, and other hormone treatments should not be treated as interchangeable with Enclomiphene.
Share the exact medication name, strength, form, dosing schedule, and date of your most recent dose. Include injections, gels, capsules, supplements, and any treatment received from another clinic. Recent lab results and your fertility goals may also be important to the decision.
Your physician will tell you when to stop the prior treatment and when to begin the new one, if approved. Do not create your own gap between treatments or use both together unless directed. Follow your new prescription and pharmacy label rather than carrying over the old dosing schedule.
Your response after a switch may differ from your prior experience. Results vary. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and are not FDA-approved. Ask about the follow-up plan before making the change.
