Can Verra Health ship a patient's medication to our practice address?
Short answer
Shipping to a practice address must be confirmed with Verra Health and the dispensing pharmacy before an order is placed. Verra's standard model ships medication to the patient. Do not assume office delivery is allowed, even if the practice plans to give the medication directly to that patient.
Verra's standard model includes medication shipped to the patient. Delivery to a practice address is not confirmed here. Before listing an office as the destination, ask Verra and the dispensing pharmacy whether that address is allowed for the specific prescription and state.
If office delivery is permitted, confirm who may receive the package and what patient authorization is needed. Ask about tracking, any signature requirement, and what happens after an unsuccessful delivery. Do not assume multiple patient prescriptions can be combined into one shipment or placed into shared office inventory.
The practice should also clarify its responsibilities after receiving medication. These may include following labeled storage instructions, keeping patient packages separate, and documenting receipt and handoff. Ask the pharmacy what to do if a package is damaged, delayed, or arrives outside its stated shipping conditions. Do not use a questionable shipment until the pharmacy gives instructions. Confirm the delivery arrangement before the prescription is filled, rather than trying to redirect a package already in transit.
