Can providers order office-use stock, or must Verra prescriptions be patient-specific?
Short answer
Do not assume Verra Health offers office-use stock. Verra's compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and are not FDA-approved. Ask Verra whether any separate practice-ordering option exists. A patient-specific prescription should not be treated as general inventory for use across multiple patients.
Verra's patient care model uses prescriptions for individual patients. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and are not FDA-approved. This model does not establish that a practice can buy bulk stock or keep medication for use across multiple patients.
A licensed physician in the patient's state, or a dentist for dental care, decides whether treatment is appropriate. A practice's request for medication does not replace that review. Patient-specific medication should not be reassigned to another patient or treated as general office inventory.
Ask Verra whether it supports any separate office-use ordering arrangement before planning purchases. Different rules can apply based on the medication, pharmacy type, intended use, and state. Confirm the permitted ordering route, required records, and delivery destination with Verra and the dispensing pharmacy. If only patient-specific prescriptions are supported, ask how each patient's prescription and shipment must be handled. Do not submit a bulk order under one patient's name.
