Skin · FAQ
Which products or medicines should I discuss before using Dark spot cream?
Short answer
Tell your physician about all medicines and skin products before starting Dark spot cream. Other retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, benzoyl peroxide, and drying products may increase irritation or cause other problems. Do not combine it with another dark spot treatment or steroid cream unless your physician approves.
Give your prescribing physician a full list of your medicines, supplements, and skin products before using Dark spot cream. Include prescription treatments, acne products, brightening serums, and products used only occasionally. Photos of labels can help your physician check ingredients and strengths.
Other retinoids, including retinol, may add to irritation from tretinoin. Exfoliating acids, harsh scrubs, alcohol-based toners, and drying acne products can also irritate treated skin. Benzoyl peroxide used with hydroquinone may cause temporary staining. Ask your physician whether to stop these products or use them at separate times. Do not make a combined routine on your own.
Tell your physician about medicines that increase sun sensitivity and any planned waxing, peels, or laser treatments. Avoid adding another hydroquinone product or steroid cream unless directed. Your physician may recommend a simpler routine while you use this formula. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and are not FDA-approved.
