Weight loss · FAQ
Which medicines or substances interact with Oral weight kit?
Short answer
Oral weight kit can interact with opioids, other bupropion products, certain antidepressants, seizure medicines, and alcohol. Give your physician and pharmacist a complete list of medicines and supplements before starting. Do not start, stop, or combine treatments on your own. Naltrexone can block opioid pain relief and trigger opioid withdrawal.
Tell your prescribing physician about every prescription, over-the-counter medicine, vitamin, and supplement you use. Include weight loss medicines, sleep aids, cough products, and alcohol. Oral weight kit has three active ingredients, so a full review is important before starting or changing treatment.
Naltrexone blocks opioids. It can trigger severe withdrawal in someone who is physically dependent on them. This includes people taking methadone or buprenorphine. Your physician must decide whether an opioid-free period is needed and how long it should be. Never try to overcome the blockade by taking more opioids. Tell emergency and surgical teams that you take naltrexone.
Bupropion should not be combined with other bupropion-containing medicines. Certain antidepressants, including MAO inhibitors, and drugs that increase seizure risk need careful review. Topiramate can interact with some seizure medicines and may affect hormonal birth control, depending on the dose and product.
Ask about alcohol before treatment. If you drink heavily or take sedatives regularly, do not stop suddenly without medical guidance. Sudden withdrawal can raise seizure risk.
