Which medicines or substances interact with Dual-action chew?

Short answer

Do not use Dual-action chew with nitrates, recreational “poppers,” or riociguat. These combinations can cause dangerous drops in blood pressure. Other erection medicines, some blood pressure medicines, and certain antibiotics or antifungals may also interact. Have your physician review all medicines, supplements, alcohol use, and recreational substances before treatment.

Dual-action chew contains sildenafil and tadalafil, which can interact with other medicines. Do not use it with nitrates, such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide, or with recreational nitrites called “poppers.” Do not combine it with riociguat. These combinations can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Tell your physician about alpha blockers, other blood pressure medicines, and any medicine used for erections or pulmonary hypertension. Some HIV medicines, antibiotics, and antifungal medicines can raise sildenafil or tadalafil levels. Other drugs may change how well they work. Results vary. Ask your pharmacist about grapefruit and avoid heavy alcohol use, which can add to dizziness and low blood pressure.

Provide a complete list of prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, vitamins, and supplements before treatment. Check again before starting anything new. Do not stop an essential medicine to make room for Dual-action chew. If you develop chest pain after a dose, call 911 and tell emergency staff exactly what you took and when. Do not take a nitrate on your own.
