Possible side effects include burning or irritation in the mouth and stomach upset. Pilocarpine may cause sweating, flushing, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, or changes in vision when it reaches the bloodstream. Using a rinse does not rule out effects elsewhere in the body. How often these effects occur with this specific compounded formula is not well established.
Tell your prescriber if symptoms are new, persistent, or hard to tolerate. Avoid driving if you feel dizzy or have blurred vision. Do not use extra rinse to try to improve dry mouth. Results vary. Follow your label and ask your pharmacist what to do if you accidentally swallow a dose.
Call 911 for trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, fainting, or other severe symptoms. Before treatment, share any history of asthma, heart disease, eye conditions, or ingredient allergies.
