At-home labs · FAQ
What if I miss a dose or collection time for the Comprehensive panel?
Short answer
There is no dose to miss with the Comprehensive panel because it is a lab test. If you miss your planned collection time, check the kit label and contact your care team about rescheduling. Do not double the sample amount or change your medicines to make up for the delay.
The Comprehensive panel is a one-time lab test, not a daily medicine. Missing a planned collection time does not call for a catch-up dose. Do not collect twice as much or take extra medicine before the test. Follow your prescribing physician’s instructions and the kit label for your next step.
Some blood measurements depend on the time of day, recent meals, or when you took a medicine. If your physician gave you a specific collection schedule, ask whether a later time is acceptable. Check whether you need to repeat any preparation steps and whether the collection supplies are still within their expiration dates.
If you already collected the sample but missed the mailing window, do not assume it can still be tested. Storage and return limits depend on the sample and kit. Contact your care team for instructions before mailing it. Let them know when you collected it and how it has been stored. They can help clarify whether a new collection is needed.
