How should I store the Comprehensive panel kit and collected sample?
Short answer
Store the Comprehensive panel kit and sample exactly as the kit label directs. Unused supplies and collected samples may have different temperature and time limits. Do not refrigerate or freeze a sample unless instructed. If the kit is damaged or a storage limit is exceeded, ask for guidance before use.
Check the kit label as soon as your Comprehensive panel arrives. It should guide storage of the unused collection supplies and explain any limits for a collected sample. Keep the supplies in their original packaging until needed. Store them away from children and pets, and do not use expired or damaged collection materials.
A collected sample may need different storage conditions than the unused kit. Follow the exact temperature, packaging, and mailing instructions supplied. Do not refrigerate, freeze, or add anything to the sample unless the instructions specifically tell you to. Do not leave it in a hot car or another place outside the stated storage limits.
Plan collection around the return instructions so the sample can be mailed within the required window. If the sample was stored incorrectly or a shipment is delayed, contact your care team. Explain the collection time and storage conditions. Do not assume a sample is usable just because it looks unchanged. Ask whether another collection is needed.
