How should I store and handle compounded sermorelin?
Short answer
Follow the storage and handling directions from your dispensing pharmacy for your exact sermorelin preparation. Requirements can differ before and after mixing or first use. Check the beyond-use date, and ask the pharmacy about any temperature problem. Do not use a vial if its safety or condition is uncertain.
Your pharmacy's label is the main guide for storing compounded sermorelin. Storage needs depend on the formulation and whether it has been mixed or opened. Do not assume instructions from a website or a previous vial apply to your current prescription. Ask whether refrigeration is required and whether light protection is needed.
Check the beyond-use date, which is the date after which the preparation should not be used. Follow any separate limit that applies after mixing or first puncturing the vial. Write down those dates if the pharmacy instructs you to do so. Do not freeze the medication unless the pharmacy specifically directs it.
If a shipment arrives warm, a refrigerator stops working, or a vial is left out, contact the pharmacy before using it. Appearance alone cannot confirm that medication is safe. Do not use a damaged, leaking, or unexpectedly cloudy vial, or one with unexpected particles. Keep medication and injection supplies away from children and pets, and use clean handling steps for every dose.
