At-home labs · FAQ

How does shipping work for at-home lab kits and samples?

Short answer

Shipping and sample return rules depend on the at-home lab you choose. Check whether the order includes a collection kit, return packaging, and return postage. Follow the kit’s timing and storage directions. Do not assume that delivery options for medications also apply to lab kits or biological samples.

Before ordering, confirm what is shipped to you and how the collected sample reaches the lab. Blood panels and genetic tests may have different packaging, carrier, and return requirements. The treatment page or kit instructions should explain the steps. Ask Verra about anything that is unclear before collecting a sample.

Check that your shipping address is correct and that you can receive the package. Follow all directions about when to collect, how to seal the sample, and when to send it back. Some samples have strict time or temperature limits. Do not use your own packaging or change the shipping method unless the lab allows it.

Ask whether return postage is included and whether weekends or holidays affect collection timing. Do not assume expedited medication shipping applies to test kits. If a package is missing, damaged, or delayed, contact Verra for guidance. A shipping estimate is not a lab processing estimate, and sending a sample faster does not guarantee an earlier report.
