How do I switch from another B12 or weight treatment to Lipo-B12?
Short answer
Do not switch to Lipo-B12 or overlap it with another treatment without physician guidance. Share your current product, ingredients, concentration, dose, and last use. Lipo-B12 is not interchangeable with other B12 injections or weight medicines. A licensed physician in your state decides whether switching is appropriate and sets the schedule.
A switch to Lipo-B12 needs a review of your current treatment and why you take it. Give your physician the medication name, full ingredient list, concentration, dose, schedule, and date of your last dose. A photo of the prescription label can help avoid confusion, especially with another compounded injection.
Do not convert doses by comparing milliliters alone. Two products may contain different amounts or forms of vitamin B12 and different added ingredients. Lipo-B12 is not interchangeable with another B12 injection, and it should not be used as a substitute for a prescribed weight-management medicine without a new treatment plan.
Your physician will decide whether to stop, overlap, or separate treatments and whether testing is needed. There is no single waiting period that fits every switch. Do not use leftover medication to bridge a gap unless instructed. A licensed physician in your state decides whether Lipo-B12 is appropriate. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient and are not FDA-approved. Ask for clear written instructions before your first new dose.
