Can I stop Lipo-B12 without tapering?

Short answer

Ask your prescribing physician before stopping Lipo-B12 or changing its schedule. Vitamin B12 itself usually does not need tapering, but your reason for treatment matters. If you have a B12 deficiency, you may need ongoing replacement. Your physician should review the full formula and plan any follow-up care.

Talk with your prescribing physician if you want to stop Lipo-B12. Vitamin B12 itself usually does not require a gradual dose reduction. Still, the full compounded formula, your medical history, and the reason for treatment should guide the plan. Do not create your own taper or switch to a different supplement without review.

If you are being treated for a confirmed B12 deficiency, stopping replacement may allow the deficiency to return. Some causes of deficiency require long-term treatment. Your physician may recommend blood tests or another form of B12 based on your needs. Lipo-B12 should not be assumed to replace every standard B12 treatment plan.

If you want to stop because of a side effect, describe the symptom and when it started. Ask whether to hold the next dose while you wait for advice. Seek emergency care for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat. Follow the pharmacy’s instructions for safe disposal of unused medication and used needles. Stopping injections and changing an order plan are separate steps.
