Skin · FAQ
What results are realistic for the custom skin treatment options?
Short answer
A custom skin prescription may help manage the concern it was prescribed for, but it cannot promise clear, even, or younger-looking skin. Results vary. Set a specific goal with your physician for acne, dark spots, rosacea, or visible aging, and discuss how you will judge whether treatment is worthwhile.
Realistic goals depend on your diagnosis and the ingredients prescribed. Goals may include fewer acne breakouts, less visible uneven pigment, reduced rosacea symptoms, or improvement in certain signs of skin aging. Results vary. No custom cream or serum can guarantee complete clearing, remove every mark, or stop the aging process.
Some concerns need a different kind of care. For example, a topical formula may not address deep scars, a changing skin growth, or every cause of redness. Dark spots can also have different causes, so a correct diagnosis matters before treatment. Your physician may recommend an in-person exam or another approach when needed.
Agree on a clear goal and a follow-up plan before starting. Use the prescription as directed and avoid judging success from advertising photos or another person's experience. Similar lighting can make your own progress photos easier to compare. Tell the physician about limited benefit, unwanted changes, or difficulty following the routine. Treatment should be reviewed rather than continued indefinitely without reassessment.
