How should I store my compounded Climax control spray?
Short answer
Store Climax control spray exactly as the pharmacy label directs, in its original container and out of reach of children and pets. Keep track of the labeled beyond-use date. Ask the dispensing pharmacy about temperature, light, and travel needs, since storage instructions can differ between compounded formulas.
The dispensing pharmacy’s label is the best guide for storing Climax control spray. A compounded product may have storage needs that differ from other lidocaine sprays. Follow the listed temperature range and any instructions about light, heat, or refrigeration. Do not assume refrigeration is helpful unless the pharmacy directs it.
Keep the spray in its original labeled container with the cap secured. Store it where children and pets cannot reach it. Do not transfer it to an unmarked travel bottle or share it with anyone else. Accidental swallowing or excess exposure to lidocaine can be dangerous.
Check the beyond-use date before each use, and do not use the spray after that date. Ask the pharmacy what to do if the container leaks, the spray changes appearance, or the package was exposed to extreme temperatures. The pharmacy can also explain safe disposal. If someone swallows the product, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 right away. Call 911 for severe symptoms such as seizures or trouble breathing.
