Can Menopause cream interact with my medicines or supplements?
Short answer
Yes. Menopause cream can interact with medicines and supplements, including other hormone treatments. Give your prescribing physician and pharmacist a full list of everything you take or apply. Do not combine it with another estrogen or progesterone product unless your physician has reviewed and approved the complete treatment plan.
Before starting Menopause cream, share all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, vitamins, and supplements with your physician and pharmacist. Include patches, vaginal hormones, birth control, skin creams, and products marketed for menopause support. Using more than one hormone product can change your total exposure and risk of side effects.
Some seizure medicines, certain antibiotics such as rifampin, and St. John’s wort can change how the body processes hormones. Estrogen can also affect some medicines, including lamotrigine. Your clinician may need to review your treatment or arrange monitoring. Do not stop another medicine on your own because you are concerned about an interaction.
Tell your prescriber if you take thyroid medicine, blood thinners, or cancer treatments. This is not a complete interaction list. A pharmacist can check your exact combination of products and the ingredients in your compounded cream.
Ask before putting lotions, sunscreens, or other medicines on the same skin area. They may affect application or absorption. Your prescription label and dispensing pharmacist should guide how to space skin products.
