Weight loss · FAQ
Can I combine a GLP-1 with an oral weight loss kit or another treatment?
Short answer
Do not combine weight loss medicines unless your prescribing physician has reviewed the full plan. Using multiple GLP-1 products or adding another medicine can increase risks. Oral kit ingredients, diabetes drugs, supplements, and birth control all need review. A licensed physician in your state decides whether a combination is appropriate.
More medication does not automatically mean a better weight loss plan. Results vary. Do not use semaglutide and tirzepatide together or add a second GLP-1 product unless you have explicit medical instructions. Product labeling generally advises against combining these medicines with other GLP-1 receptor agonists or another product containing the same active ingredient.
Whether an Oral weight kit can be used with another treatment depends on every ingredient and your health history. Share a complete list of prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, herbs, and weight loss supplements. Some combinations can raise the risk of low blood sugar, dehydration, or other serious problems.
GLP-1 medicines can slow stomach emptying and may affect oral medicines. Tirzepatide can make oral hormonal birth control less reliable after starting and after dose increases. Ask about non-oral birth control or a barrier method during the periods listed in its prescribing information. Tell your physician about treatments from other clinics, and do not assume that a microdose avoids interactions.
