Weight loss · FAQ
Am I eligible for a GLP-1 or oral weight loss program?
Short answer
Eligibility depends on your health history, weight, age, and the specific medication. Many weight management medicines are intended for adults with obesity, or overweight plus a related health condition. A licensed physician in your state reviews your information and decides whether a Verra weight loss treatment is appropriate.
A weight loss prescription is not based on a goal weight alone. A licensed physician in your state reviews your height, weight, medical history, current medicines, and prior treatment. For many adult weight management medicines, labeled eligibility includes a body mass index of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related health condition.
Those criteria do not mean every product on this page is suitable for every person who meets them. The Oral weight kit may have different considerations from semaglutide or tirzepatide. A GLP-1 microdosing plan is not an established, FDA-approved weight management dosing approach. A lower dose does not remove the need for a full medical review.
Tell the physician about diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, eating disorders, pregnancy plans, and any history of weight loss surgery. They may need more information, testing, or an in-person evaluation before deciding. Treatment may support weight management when used with appropriate nutrition and activity. Results vary.
