Skin · FAQ
Am I eligible for a custom prescription skin cream or serum?
Short answer
Eligibility depends on your skin concern, health history, and the ingredients being considered. A licensed physician in your state decides whether a custom cream or serum is appropriate. Share your current medicines, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, and past skin treatments. Some concerns need an in-person skin exam instead.
A custom prescription may be considered for concerns such as acne, dark spots, rosacea, or visible signs of skin aging. Having one of these concerns does not mean a prescription is right for you. A licensed physician in your state reviews your information and decides whether treatment is appropriate.
Tell the physician about your symptoms, how long you have had them, and what you have already tried. Include prescription products, store-bought skin care, supplements, and known allergies. Mention pregnancy, plans to become pregnant, breastfeeding, and any history of strong reactions to skin products. Age and other health conditions may also affect the choice of treatment.
Online care is not the right setting for every skin problem. A new or changing mole, a bleeding spot, a painful rash, or signs of infection may need an in-person exam. Clear photos may help a review, but they cannot replace every part of a skin exam. Do not delay urgent care while waiting for an online visit.
